She works hard for the mon-.....awards.

Last week was a busy one for Angelena. She had her awards assembly at school, her piano recital (I'll put those pictures up later) and her soccer dinner.

More than a little monkey business

Last week Angelena's class went on a field trip to the zoo. As a chaperon I knew it would be a little hectic, however I was thoroughly unprepared for the madness which ensued.



Here are the culprits:



They LOOK innocent enough right? Don't be fooled my friend, don't be fooled. They were wild and crazy and didn't listen at all. The one on the far left was always about 15 feet behind us and when I would stop for her, the rest of the girls would run way ahead. How I managed to keep track of all of them is a miracle.

Here is Angelena at the tiger exhibit. They had a bunch of cases all around the inside of the fence that said "Open in case of emergency". I wonder what was in them...


We got to see the Panda exhibit for free! They were so cute! I tried to get some pictures but they didn't turn out very good. Except for this one and she was the cutest panda there of course.

We also ran into the great Marco Polo!
Angelena and her friend. When the girls were acting up Angelena's friend would walk next to me and eloquently capture my frustrations by asking "Why are they so hard headed?"

Having fun on the "kiddie rides". This was the one thing I was able to use against them so I didn't let them get on until it was almost time to leave. I must of said "If you don't stop you're not going on the kiddie rides" about 50 times that day. By the time we made it back to Angelena's school I had one of the worst migraines I've ever experienced which is saying a lot! Needless to say I don't think I'll be volunteering as chaperon again any time soon.

busy? busy. busy!

Well, Angelena had her 7th (!!!) birthday on May 3rd. We went to a garage sale that morning and scored a bunch of little Polly Pocket sets for .25 cents! These were the old sets too, back when Polly was tiny and came with her little pocket-sized houses and shops. We were very excited about them, though perhaps me a little more than them. Then Angelena had a soccer game. Afterwards we came home and made cupcakes and she opened her gifts.





Yesterday Mia gave herself a Radial Head Dislocation for the second time! This usually occurs when a childs arm is pulled too hard, however when our crazy little Mia did it, she was playing by herself! Our wild little jumping bean, I have no idea how she does these things. A trip to the emergency room and a skilled pull and pop by the doctor did the trick. She's perfectly fine now.





This morning the first graders had a musical performance at Angelena's school. I nervously braved going alone with Mia and Wren, and it actually turned out ok. No major meltdowns, but Wren did reach over and pull Mia's hair which caused her to shriek "OOOOOWWWWWW WRENNY!!??!!" during one of the more quieter songs. The performance was adorable. Nothing cuter than a cafeteria full of first graders who want to do nothing more than sing louder than the kid standing next to them :)
